Sony has promised that the PlayStation Vita Wifi will offer different ways for people to “encounter,” “connect,” “discover,” “share” and “play” with friends over the Internet, whether it’s Wi-Fi or wireless 3G.
Perhaps this is why pre-order sales for Sony’s PlayStation Vita handheld ranked in the top ten “Most Wished For” products at Amazon.com Inc. this week.
The PS Vita ranked as the No. 7 ‘Most Wished For’ product in Amazon’s Video Games division this week, showing strong demand.
The Wi-Fi only model will sell at $249.99 and the 3G model will sell at $299.99.
Some of the features the PlayStation Vita will include are:
Dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes.
Utilization of flash-memory game cards.
Hardware specifications include an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, front camera, rear camera, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.
The company will partner with AT&T to allow current customers to access Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.
The PS Vita Party mode will allow users to chat with nearby players. In addition, near will allow users to play with friends using their PSN ID.
